Michigan dismissed head coach Sherrone Moore for an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. Doug Gottlieb can’t stop thinking about the repercussions for the rest of the coaching staff and expresses his empathy for Moore as he grapples with losing everything over one stupid decision.
Doug Gottlieb: “There is a gigantic push in especially state institutions to hire females as part of the basketball staff, football staff, baseball staff, Director of Ops, whatever, because; optics. And it also gives you a different perspective…guys don’t always know the right way to do things. But it does not come without risk… I woke up going, ‘Man…oh, I got some empathy for (Sherrone Moore)!’ I just do because he lost everything yesterday.”
