City leaders in Santee are considering a one-cent sales tax increase to fund infrastructure.
This would be for ten years, and is expected to generate 14-million dollars annually. The generated funds would be used for road repairs and to enhance fire and emergency services.
This is a new proposal, after a half-cent sale tax measure was defeated two years ago.
A feasibility study was approved to gauge public support. Voters may see this issue on the November ballot.
