Should local tourism workers get a pay raise to $25 an hour? The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce doesn't think so. They say it will hurt too many local businesses.
However, a proposal to hike the hourly wage continues to be spearheaded by San Diego City Council-member Sean Elo-Rivera.
If it moves forward, it would cover tourism, event centers and janitorial service workers.
Either way, it likely won't happen anytime soon. The proposal still needs to pass several hurdles before going to the full City Council for a vote.
