Fernando Tatis, Jr. Helps Fans To Safety

When the sound of gunshots began to ring out across Nationals Park on Saturday night, Fernando Tatis Jr. sprang into action. The Padres star ran from the bench to open up a gate along the left-field line and helped guide the fans into the dugout for safety, assisted by teammates Manny Machado and Wil Myers. Tatis said afterwards he felt that "somebody needed to go get them", adding "There's no longer players, fans. I feel like everybody's just people, human beings trying to be secure". The shooting took place outside Nationals stadium, with three people injured when two cars exchanged gunfire. The game was halted and completed on Sunday.
