Larson Talks Community Roots with Cheap Trick Guitarist Rick Nielsen

Being back in my hometown of Rockford, Illinois for the last several days (on an unscheduled trip because of the passing of my stepdad) so many of the things that matter most to me come to mind. Among the recurring themes : Always remember your roots.

My friend and fellow Rockford native, Rick Nielsen talked about this with me on radio today. He's the legendary founder, lead guitarist and songwriter with the band Cheap Trick. The group is still going strong worldwide, and Rick shared many stories not told until today. (Listen to the full interview below)

What he has done in our old hometown is amazing and worth hearing. FUN FACT: I bought my junior high school band trumpet from his Dad, a noted opera singer and owner of the leading music store in town.
