Fewer Americans are going to church than ever before, according to a new Gallup poll. In fact, church membership in the U.S. dropped below 50 percent for the first time ever last year - just 47 percent said they belong to a church, synagogue, or mosque. Church membership has been steadily declining for the last 20 years, and is heavily linked to age - about two-thirds of baby boomers belong to a church, but just one-third of millennials. At the same time, the number of Americans with no religious affiliation has risen from 8 percent up to 21 percent over the same period.
