Former Vice President Mike Pence is not going to speak at this week’s Conservative Political Action Conference. Pence turned down the invitation today, a day after Donald Trump announced that he would be speaking. Matt Schlapp, an organizer of the event, says it’s a “mistake” for Pence not to speak, explaining, “His conservative record is well respected, and conservatives want to hear his take on the current threats posed by socialism and this radicalized Democrat party.” CPAC leaders are reportedly still trying to convince Pence to change his mind but Fox News claims the former president will not even attend the event.
