The Dallas Mavericks have reversed course on their decision to stop playing the national anthem before home games - after the NBA pushed back on the idea. After it was reported Tuesday that the Mavs had decided to skip the anthem for the rest of the season, the NBA stepped in, declaring that "all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy". Owner Mark Cuban said the team would resume playing the anthem starting with Wednesday night's game vs. the Hawks. In a statement, he said "We respect and always have respected the passion people have for the anthem and our country", but said he hopes those people will be "just as passionate in listening to those who do not feel it represents them."
