National Guard Troops In DC Ahead of Inauguration

A total of 15,000 National Guard members have now been activated and will deploy to Washington, D.C. over the next few days to help with security in the run-up to President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration. Officials say they are coming in from all over the country amid FBI warnings about the possibility of more violent protests after last week's deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol. Troops will be given additional training when they arrive in D.C. to help spot signs of extremist behavior. Army officials also said they have yet to identify any Guard members who participated in last week's protests, but investigations are continuing.
