Trump Signs Latest COVID-19 Relief Bill

After threatening to veto last week, President Trump signed off on a $2.3 trillion coronavirus relief and government funding bill Sunday night. The bill avoids a government shutdown and ensures a round of $600 stimulus checks and expanded federal unemployment benefits for Americans. Trump criticized the bill last week and threatened to veto unless the stimulus payments were increased to $2,000. But an attempt by the House to increase the payments fell short. The first stimulus payments are expected to go out by direct deposit sometime in early January.
